AI would have 2 say Cupcakeaddiction is my fav, crumb boss is so loud & unprofessional sorry jmo.
I know but they are too funny, I really like their SMBC, I like it's stability.
I like working with BC, so I watch whatever I can in the tutorials. I have been trying my hand at fondant and gum paste at the moment, the tutorials are endless.
I have a special cake coming up in a few weeks, April 15 to be exact. Can't wait, it is a huge Zebra striped cake with all the bells and whistles. It will be Epic!!! Because I don't know what I am doing, I will be studying extra hard because I don't want the birthday girl to be disappointed.
So off to study tutorials, Happy Baking!!!
AI love seriouscakes, cupcakeaddiction, and Liz Marek :D they're the greatest
sweetambs, her videos are so relaxing and her talent is off the scales
I'm sorry I gave you the wrong two, these were the ones I thought you might get a laugh out of.
In the industry you have to be quick, at my job we don't have time to crumb coat cakes, but I am not this fast, 0_o
AWow that's is skill, I work at a snails pace compared to those lol. I don't care much for the 1st video cake though seems like cream overload but I can appreciate the skill. They can probably decorate with their eyes closed
Hi meriem, sorry I have not been on, I have been so busy with Easter coming up and some kind of stomach virus
I was really slow when I stated out, I was always trying to make the cake perfectly smooth, but if you work in a retail bakery speed is of the essence. They nicked named me the turtle, lol. With practice you will get better.
AGlad your feeling better :) I worked in a bakery as a Saturday job last year just for some extra income. I didn't know much about decorating then, had just started, so was amazed at the top decorators even if it was just simple two layer cake smoothed in buttercream and a border I was like wow! One baker used to do 45 cakes a day he was exhausted at the end but I guess that's what you would expect for that sort of job. I stopped working this year as my uni workload has got a lot bigger. So I try to do cakes when I can but I think I'm getting the hang of it slowly. I found that working out a schedule really helped me. When I first started I tried to bake, crumb coat and decorate all in one day, by the end I was so tired that I would be happy with a not so perfect cake. But yes with practice I can see improvement. practice makes nearly perfect. :)
lol, Here is a method I use minus the spray and viva towel because I really like SMBC. I also use a plastic scraper for a smoother finish.
Here is another one to smooth SMBC
I love serious cakes. I also love the way this person actually pipes out animals. There are a total of 4 of these videos. This is the first one.
Hello all, I was just surfing the net and taking a break from the usual humdrum lessons in futility. Coming to you live from kitchens across America!!! Some are great but some give me pause:
talk about hearing it through the mouths of babes. o_0
Then I found this one and I couldn't stop laughing because he grew up a little hence the voice change.
And he uses my secret recipe, now don't that beat all, thought I was the only one who poked holes in their chocolate cake and poured Hershey's chocolate syrup over it.
Well spring is in the air amongst other things but I wont get into that right now," lets keep the air fresh and lovely" ( in my best Bob Ross voice)
You know what reminds me of spring? Nice pastel colors (still in character of BR) of crispy, chewy, delicate, and delicious french macaroons or macarons if you want to be a smarty pants and get technical.
I know this thread is about cake decorating tutorials, but I think everyone should try to make macaroons at least once. My dream is to one day be able to travel abroad starting on the Rhine river across Europe until I get to Spain. My most beloved pit stop? Laduree in Paris to taste their famous macarons.
One can only dream I know, but anything to take me away from the never ending Easter cake and cookie orders this week is very welcoming and if I never see a peep again it will be okay. Peeps, >_<!!! EEEEWwwwwww, nasty stuff imo.
Any who, here are some tutorials on making french macaroons as well as the website for Laduree. Don't let them intimidate you, they are fairly easy to make once you understand the technique. So put your best foot forward, (pun intended) and give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
This one uses the Le Cordon Blue technique.
This one is okay, but she gives good tips on trouble shooting if you run into problems.
There is 100's on there
Problem with Lovelytutorials.com is that they steal from other blogs and blatantly place their own logo/watermark over the original creator's watermark.
Agreed! They've taken several of mine and erased my watermark and put there's on it. Such a bummer! I wish they would simply give credit where credit is due because people would still want to check out their page if they just were honest about it.
So sorry that happened to you. Have you tried getting in touch with their Web Master to have your pics removed? Such a shame.
While I was reading and answering a post early this morning, a member posted in that thread off topic that youtube was shutting down.
Here is a link to the news story.
I really like youtube for quick references if I want to know how to do something in a pinch, The easiest way to learn "FOR ME" is to watch someone else do it first, while another person can pick up on how to do something by just reading it. Different strokes for different folks. I love Edna De La Cruz's BC My Way which is a very good way I might add plus this woman is drop dead gorgeous and talented, soooo jealous of her make up. It doesn't matter how you get there folks, just as long as you get there.
There are many tutorials and pictorials on this site that are very useful as well. And yes, Google is your friend, lol heard that some where, I cant remember where, just thought it was funny. But some times its' nice to ask a question on this site and have an experienced or not so experienced member explain how they had the same problem and show you how they solved it.
If youtube shuts down, or if it was an April Fool's joke, Oh well, I know that there is a plethora of information on this site. So as long as they don't shut down the Internet, I think I will be okay. And if all else fails I always have my books!!!!
I heard this morning that it was an April Fool's joke so I think you can rest easy that youtube is not going away...! Fingers crossed just in case!
ALol I don't think you need to worry about anything. It was an April fools joke! YouTube is a multi million company it will not be shutting down.
IKR, I was was thinking the same thing, the member said it was losing to much money, I was like, huh? o_0 Giving some serious side eye, lol.
Nice to know it was a joke.
He is actually using ganache. I've seen some of his other videos. He definitely has a passion for baking.
Really well, I guess my secret's out.
