Are there any cakers here who specialize in Traditional, Southern cakes other than myself? I'm trying to find threads that aren't all about formal cakes, or is that what this forum is mostly about?

Don't specialize, but I found a baking book called Southern Cakes that has so many yummy recipes!  I use the yellow cake in the recipe for Caramel Cake in there...so good!

Hi Margie912,

I'm in the south and make cakes. Are you thinking about something like a Humingbird Cake?  Give me some examples of what kind you specialize in. Cake is good in the South!!!  icon_lol.gif   Janet

Do you mean like pineapple upside down cakes and other cakes that are not decorated (fondant etc)?
