I am demonstrating at a Demo Day next month and I am in a bit of a Quandary of what to demonstrate.

I am tossing up between two different cakes ,

This one , where I would probably do a smaller pot and one rose person perched on top. I would go into how I do the dirt , the rocks etc as well as step by step on the rose person.

This was my entry for the Local Show this year. I got a first with it in the sugar craft novelty section. I also made it into the local paper .

Or this one where I would do the baby , the nest and the cherry blossoms.

WOW thanks.  I will hold you to that.  Mum and Dad are supposed to be visiting me this year so it won't be until 2015 but I will beg, borrow or steal a car to come and see you.

I think the flower pot with the rose person is more unusual and, therefore (?), more interesting? I love both cakes and whichever one you choose will be just fine.

What did you use for the "Blossom" letters? It doesn't look like tappits.

I vote for the rose people, they are fun!  If it has to be a baby theme they can easily be mom and dad roses with a baby 'bud'.  What fun, wish I lived over your way too!

Handymama, they are Clixstix , love love love them . The little flowers on the letters are also from a separate clixstix.

There really isn't a theme , just a vague leaning towards Mother's day.  Looks like the Rose people are winning at this stage .

AThe rose people seem different to me so I voted for that. I think there's more to learn, in terms of pot and stones etc. either way beautiful cakes :)

Looks like Rose People it is . I do agree they are fun and the technique does transfer if you want to do a Giant Rose.
