I thought I'd seen some cakes that used edible images on fondant before the fondant was pleated or shaped to look like fabric. I have searched the internet, and I can't find a picture of a cake that does this.

If you know of a cake that was decorated in this way, could you post a link?

Also, if you've tried this technique before, could you share any tips?

Thank you!

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but it is a link I saved with the intention of trying it myself.  It is fondant that was stenciled and then pleated.  It's quite beautiful and I love the technique.  I hope it helps.

Thank you for linking to that image, Missy227. Yes, that's the type of look I would like, where there is a pattern on pleated fondant. I'm just trying to figure out how to save some time by using edible images instead of having to do the design freehand. (Lazy, I know.) icon_smile.gif
