Does anyone have a chart or formula to estimate the number of sugar diamonds (or sugar pearls) needed for a quilted tier?  Thanks so much!

For an 8" cake the circumference is 25.12" (8 x 3.14) so round up to 27" around just to be safe.  If the creases in your quilts are 1.5" apart, you will have 18 columns of creases.  Times that by how tall your cake is - 4" tall cake would have about 3 creases per column.  So, 18x3 - 54 diamonds.

You would have to measure how big your diamond/quilted shape is for the quilting to get the exact number - ie if your diamonds/quilted shapes are small (1") then you will need more, if they are larger you would need less.

Hope that makes sense!
