I made my first topsy turvy cake last night and everything was going smooth until I stacked the tiers...the whole thing collapsed. Not in on its self but from where I shaved down the sides to give it more of the unbalanced effect. I guess I cut too much off bc the "effect" became a reality and it all just slid off. I do use a crusting buttercream recipe so it wasn't a wet surface I think I just failed at basic support with the cake...anywho, if anyone can give me some pointers on stacking topsy turvy layers and tiers that would be great!!

Hi, you can google for some YouTube clips that give you an idea or invest in Sharon Zambito's Topsy Turvy DVD.  It is excellant. I made my first Topsey Turvey using her method and it came out perfect!
