I posted an ecard on my facebook that says, "It is better to arrive late than to arrive ugly" with a picture of a woman in front of a mirror. She comments, "Grateful that we have friends that we can come as we are...Blessings"

I post one that says,"I don't have a short temper, just a quick reaction to BS" She writes, "Respond in love. It works! Blessings"

I post," Lord grant me the serenity to accept stupid people as they are, courage to maintain self control and the wisdom to know that if I act on it, I will go to jail." She replies, "Principles above Personalities--it works! Blessings"

I post,"I hope DH gets a head full of silver hair, like Richard Gere." And she says, "He doesn't even compare. Blessings"

It is every time, she has something to say...She does it in person too! On DD birthday my mom says, "I loved the work, I just hated working with the stupid people." So FIL's wife says, "I just always worry about myself, not other people." Anybody else want to smack her yet?

She has inherited the bad-joke gene.  Some people are terminally unable to tell the difference...and it runs in families.

My ex-MIL is just like that.  "Thump" if I could :)  I find the word Really in question form comes out of my mouth -  a lot.  Really?, Wow! Really?

I get it Anna :)

AI'm pretty sure all of the things you have posted on FB, I have too. It's funny. They're silly comments, and I abhor when people have to ruin a silly simple joke. Boyfriend's family does that to me too, and drives me bananas!

From the tone of your FB posts, maybe she thinks you are a jerk.  I'm not saying you are AT ALL, I'm just saying those posts sound a little - jerky.  She's trying to make you see the good side of things.  BTW, I'm NOT saying you are rude or anything.  This is exactly why I'm not on FB.  People post whatever thoughts run across their mind and then get mad when people don't think it's the funniest thing ever.

Keep in mind, I do not know you or her or your relationship other than what you have posted here, so if it's beyond this, I can't speak to that obviously.  The thing is - she's right.  Maybe it stinks to hear that.

I'll take cover now.

Customise your posts so she can't see them, then be vague in person. 'Oh yes, I haven't had much time to be on FB recently, how 'bout them Cowboys?'

Oh... blessings!

i can't handle fb

but this reminds me of one reason why

a friend had a house fire and had to put humpty back together--i went through that too

we got royally screwed by the contractors repeatedly--occupational hazard of having a house fire--doesn't happen always i guess but is not uncommon

so i'm telling her this and saying really be vigilant and careful--these people know they have a captive audience and they def take advantage-so be prepared to play  hard ball--

she says, 'oh well i know if i'm the person god wants me to be--if i'm kind and respectful--i will have nothing to worry about with the contractors'

so i didn't say it but i'm like

so what the hell were you up to when your house burned down, lady

Agreed...the only reason I use FB these days is to post pictures of our daughter for friends and family who live out of state.

Oh... blessings!

I tried, I think it keeps resetting and letting her see. I think I will just defriend her! I have ignored my own mother's friend requests, I have no problem defriending her

I actually grated my teeth at the last on, "I just worry about myself...". I'm rarely on FB except for my business, one of the reasons being that I have a cousin who posts 'uplifting' pictures for whatever she feels your 'needs' are.

Nothing quite like having someone assume you are depressed, when you aren't, and posting a picture of a sobbing girl on FB, tagging you in, and saying "Praying you get some happiness in your life".

Gee thanks, now I'm angry and a bit depressed. lol.

I modify who can see my few posts now, and life has been much nicer :)

I have another one. I posted an ecard that said "So much to do, so little desire to do it." She writes the scripture that says something about "A man who won't work is an abomination and should starve to death" (I am adlibbing, lol)

My husband works 48 hours a week, and took on a woman with 3 kids who doesn't get her child support (me!) And I take care of my house and family. I just don't like taking care of my house, and it was a joke!

I said almost that same thing to my mother :-) "I don't know what is going on, I tried accepting your friend request months ago, but nothing happened. Try it again? " But it is just sitting there, and it won't let her send another since I never responded to the first one. haha She starts riots on Facebook, and I have to delete just about everything she posts on my business page.

Yeah, I censor myself pretty much everywhere, and I'm not vulgar or offensive, but I don't want to worry about offending anyone or having anyone make a snarky comment about my humor. So I am only friends with people who I am sure will say one of two things to anything I post:

1. Stealing this!

2. Love it!

First, they aren't my posts, just ecards. And they are funny, not jerky. She is too heavenly minded to do any earthly good, so she doesn't think of people that way, and I wish she would think I was a jerk and just stop posting. I think her posts are thinly veiled jabs. I I really couldn't care less about what she thinks of me, I don't have to prove anything to her.

I think she is jealous that I have such a good relationship with my real MIL, and we snicker at her just about every time she opens her mouth.

Another tactic is to escalate (in good humor of course)...if you start following George Takei and sharing some of his posts, your ecards won't seem so bad in comparison. ;)

They do seem like jabs. I love those snarky ecards. I love seeing them on my Facebook and Pinterest. It's good humor. Why is she on you Facebook though? I don't have my SIL on mine because she loved to create drama when there wasn't any reason to.

Here's one I won't forget, Churchill had been drinking quite a bit and an archenemy who was a woman came up to him, and said " oh my but you are drunk!"  he answered " Yes, my lady, I am drunk, but tomorrow I will be sober and you're still ugly", Same woman approached Churchill on another function and said " if I were your wife, I would poison your coffee," Churchill said, " My darling, if you were my wife, I would drink it!" I'm sure you have heard about Churchill and his famous quips, but I have met people who are just like that, they have to have the last word! No pun intended.icon_wink.gif

Sounds to me like she's one of those people that thinks being religious means she can't be a bad person, and covers her catty remarks with a quick 'blessings' to make it look like she's just spreading the good word. Those people drive me crazy.

Nope, He is in his late 60's and she is in her early 50's. He retired but got 2 jobs, lol. They met in AA.

My MIL said she was thankful that he was an alcoholic when they were married, because she herself would never have joined Alanon (SP?) and it has really helped her deal with difficult situations that were unrelated to the issue of why she joined. So FILW pops up, "Being married to alcoholic isn't the only reason to join!" DUH? Isn't that what she just said? Who just goes and joins alanon who doesn't have a spouse, parent, or child in AA? Most people have never heard of it, until they are thrust into it. She was grateful to have found it. That is all. So SHUTUP!

Yep! She is just doing the Lord's work, and if she pisses me off while doing it, that must mean I am going to burn in hell. :eyeroll: SHEESH!
