I am going to be attempting my 2nd fondant cake ever. The first one that will require any precision or skill. I need to make "ribbon" that goes around each square layer. I watched a video on how to make a satin look using pearl dust. When I went to the online store to buy it I was surprised by all the different colors. My question is do I need to find brown pearl dust to go on brown colored fondant? They have "brown luster dust" but it doesn't say "pearl" so I don't know if that is the right stuff. Thank you for your answers!!

AI use just the pearl dust. However, I have never put it on Brown.? I think that is all you want though? The luster dust is different than the pearl dust. Luster dust won't give you the same effect. I personally LOVE pearl dust!! It is so pretty on fondant!! Not sure if this helps, but I hope so. :) Good luck and happy decorating!

AAnother vote for pearl dust. I use it on all colours of fondant.
