AI read a old post on here where a lady used a scrapbook punch to punch out small butterflies ....she rolled out fondant to the thickness needed let it harden for a couple of minutes than punched out small butterflies. I know I have a small butterfly punch not sure where I bought it but I would look at micheals or hobby lobby.

Love the punches! Works very well with thinly rolled gp or fondant. Must be thin and uniformly rolled though.

Ok but that one in the pic looks like a small plunger butterfly, sold in sets of three. If you push down all the way, it embosses an image too, but this isn't embossed.

It could be a polymer clay cutter.  Look it the Sculpy/Clay modeling isle of your craft store.  I've ween very tiny butterfly shaped cutters.  they are smaller than the punch cutters shown here.  And they have no design on them.  It really just looks like a tiny cookie cutter.

AHi everyone! Thank you for all your help and advice! After searching the Internet non stop! I finally found that it was a scrapbook punches that was used to cut these tiny butterflies. As Kazita said you roll out the fondant or gumpaste very thin and you leave it out to dry and then you do the punch. I hope this helps! :D

I know this is late but I was looking for the same small butterfly cutter.  I think what you want is a Linzer cookie cutter.  Just google Linzer butterfly cutter.  You want the Spring set.

I don't even know the actual name brands of all my scrapbook punches, I bought most of them st either a scrapbook store or the scrapbook isle of the craft stores I go to.

I bought a tiny butterfly punch from Hobbycraft and used it on the cake I've linked to above.

I used gum paste which I rolled paper thin and then left it for a few minutes to go 'leathery' before using.
