so, if you purchase a new printer with regular ink cartridges in it, will it be safe to simply replace those cartridges with edible ink cartridges, or will there be regular ink on the printhead?  the cake printers that come with the edible ink or way more expensive than just purchasing the same printer with the regular ink - i'm thinking that doing that and then purchasing a set of edible cartridges would be less costly???

So far as I'm aware, printers are not generally shipped with cartridges actually installed.
