Uuughh!  I hate the slow time of year!  Orders are very slow right now.  Is anyone else having this issue?  What do you do during the slow times?  I'm trying to figure out more ways to contact future brides.

Orders slow down for me this time of year too.  My business consists of 92% wedding cakes (which is what I want) and winter weddings in NE Ohio are not that common.

I take advantage of the down time to try techniques I have gotten around too, read a lot and nap every weekend thumbs_up.gif

AI am slow, too. I don't try to get birthday cakes, whatsoever, they come to me, I want wedding cakes! I have a 3 tier birthday coming up next week, but this week I have nothing! I am using to opportunity to rearrange in the bakery ;-) We have added some wire shelves, moved a table, have taken out a large space-sucking cabinet that is really cruddy for organized storage, added another table, moved the cooling rack.... Also, to the right of my drain board of the 3 compartment sink, I had a wasted space 25" wide, since my grease trap is sitting on the floor there. We built a custom shelf around it (with access to it) and moved my pan rack on top of it! It has really cleared some space!!! I love it, but we are not done yet...

Plus, I am cleaning out the fridge, and defrosting the freezer.
