Oh boy....well, they're kind of night and day. Have you baked both or do you know what the differences are in ingredients and how they're prepped? I made WASC one time back when I heard lots of great things about it, but couldn't get past the funky smell and taste from the cake mix. Sorry, that's just me. Mud cake on the other hand is a gift from the God's. Good coffee, butter, good chocolate and you have a killer cake. Look on here for Pam's Mudcake, or Blue has one too, but either way....there is no real way to compare them. They just aren't remotely similar.

Oh, and I find wasc unpalatable and stinky, and heavy. And weird. I tried it a few times, to see if I was doing something wrong, but no, I hate it.

Thanks for replying ladies...

I have recently started using wasc as a base receipe for all my cakes, (after reading all the reviews about them). Its good for me but not the best.

I want to try mud cakes but i have some questions:

a. can i use it as my base recipe for all cakes

b. will it be too heavy and dense with ganache
