AOk, this may sound like a dumb question, but here it goes. When stacking a 2 tier buttercream cake (no fondant) is there something to put underneath the board supporting the top tier to keep the icing from coming off when removed. I ended up with a big bald spot of exposed cake on my first try. Maybe a sheet of parchment paper underneath the board? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Yes, or waxed paper.

I have dusted the top of the cake under the wax paper with powder sugar and that also helps it not to stick.
