What is the easiest way to get the sand on the cake.  I'm using graham cracker crumbs.  This is for a wedding cake so I don't want it to look messy but still have that sand tecture.

AJust did one today, look in my pictures. very finely crushed graham crackers. Chilled the fondant covered tier well, brushed with corn syrup diluted with a bit of water, and rolled it over the crumbs. Sprinkled more on top and brushed off excess.

AI use a mix if brown & white sugar. I put it in a large piping bag so I can put it exactly where I want it.

AOh, I mixed in brown sugar too, forgot to mention that. Brown sugar and graham crackers. Adds a bit of sparkle like sand would have.
