hi can any one help I bought a very large box of founding ,and the other night I cut some off ready for my cake I did all the kneedi g and started to roll it out but it was a night near sticking every wear I tryed adding icing but i it went both when I finely got it rolled and on the cake it was sticky and shiny  please help

If your fondant is too sticky to handle, you can knead in some powdered sugar to it bit by bit.  If it is sticking to your work surface, you can dust your surface with powdered sugar, cornstarch, or a mix.  You can alternatively rub some vegetable shortening on your surface as well.  Hope that helps!

Thanks but have tryed all that it is just far to soft I really need help with this cot 3 cakes next Friday with no founding help mèeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

yes--sometimes you want to let it air dry in a calculated way--not so that it seriously crusts over and makes a big mess--but just that it actually air dries a bit

 

i've gotten very sticky store bought black fondant that i did not want to knead tons of white powder into-- and i just left it out and watched it like a hawk--set a timer--

 

see if that doesn't help some--

 

then just let it air dry (10 mins maybe?) then knead it or roll it if it's already been kneaded well

 

test a small chunk

 

worked for me
