Was wondering if anyone had advice on how to transport 100 cupcakes about 30 min away. Obviously want to make sure they don't squish . They are for my nieces sweet 16. I'll be putting them on a tower and completing them with some toppers there. Any advice? Thanks in advance!
AClamshell containers. If your local. Cake supplies store doesn't carry them you can order online.
Yup I agree and decorate them right in the container so you only have to minimally handle frosted cupcakes.
You may have found your answer to transporting cupcakes, but this is what I use. If you go to the produce section of your market and ask for a grape container. The container holds about 40 cupcakes and they will not get squished. On the bottom place one those skid rubbery things on the bottom. It works every time..This works if you are taking the cupcakes to set up for an event. This is a picture of what it looks like.
Hope that helps someone.
I take heavy foil . and impress it on the back of my c/c pans. then i place inside of the pan and work it some. I place this into a cake box(whatever size i need) I place the c/c and then pipe the swirl, or whatever i am piping right on to the c/c right in the box. That is all i have ever done, since i read it here on c/c. hth
Just a heads up for anyone ordering from Wesellcoffee - they do have great prices, HOWEVER. . . . I placed an order with them on 4-7-2013 for boxes - a total of $147. According to the UPS tracker, it took NINE DAYS after I paid them with PAYPAL (instant payment!) before they finally shipped my package, and I am STILL waiting for delivery. Their website indicates that they ship within 4 -5 days and my area (KCMO) should recieve packages in 3 days, which at the outside should be 8 days, right? It has now been 15 days and I am still without an order that was paid for at the time of order. If you are in a hurry or need your items within a period of several weeks, you might consider paying a little more for faster service. Or plan ahead. WAAAAAAAAAAAAY ahead.
I got some boxes from the bookstore I work at. We get special display paperback books in them, I lined with freezer paper, decorated the cupcakes in the box and they were ready to go. Most boxes hold about 3 1/2 dozen. Transported almost 300 cupcakes 80 miles with no mishaps. If I could figure out how to add pictures to posts I could show the boxes.
I use the boxes with the inserts. Easy to set up and to break down.
