ACan anyone advise me on how much I should charge for cupcake stilettos? I'm only starting out but I've been asked to make some for a friends neice. I usually sell my cupcakes for £1 and that covers everything. These stilettos have wafer and choc as well as sanding sugar. I always feel bad charging more than £1 per cupcake. Any advice would be helpful.

local retail delicious cupcakes cost $3.50 u.s.

5.60 your pounds

that's in a specialty cupcake shop

the extra on that siletto cupcake should be easily another $2.50 u.s. (or more)

4.00 your pounds

so 9.50 pounds( $7 u.s.)

don't  you think???

they are each one a sculpture

AOh wow. That sounds a lot. Would people actually pay that? Yes you're right, each shoe is a sculpture. I always feel bad for charging for cupcakes. Thank you for your help xx

yes they will

the store i'm referencing is a chain cupcake store--

there are many of them selling primarily cupcakes alone

they don't even fill the cupcakes--for $3.50 u.s.

which is like two of your pounds

very tasty cuppies too

and that's before any stiletto action at all

so yes people pay that to the tune of supporting many freestanding cupcake businesses

Would people actually pay that?

This is why it's so important to have a business plan and do research on your target markets. If you find a target market that will pay £8-10 for a cupcake, you can offer this type of product. If your target market is only willing to pay £1 per cupcake, you are probably better off not selling cupcakes at all considering how much you will end up paying yourself.
