hi there I've been making tiered fondant cakes I use cake boards under each level and use Wilton plastic dowels. When I cut them up, (unstack them) the bottom level cakes fondant always gets stuff to the top level cake board. makes a big mess of the cake for eating. I've heard people use wax paper, icing sugar, but wouldn't that make the layers not stable and move around? I'm a bit confused.

I use powdered sugar in between layers, but it never causes the cake to slide because I also always use a center dowel for any cake that leaves my house!
