Butter Flavor Vs Butter Extract

I like to put a little butter flavor in my buttercream icing and I was wondering if it would taste the same with butter extract instead. I have tasted some extracts, like the lemon, that smell and taste like alcohol and I don't like them. Wondering if any of you have tried the extract. Does it have that alcohol taste?
