Does anyone recognise the shape of these hearts as having come from a heart pan or are they carved from a circle?

Also, the smaller tier looks like a 6inch cake to me - does that seem right?

Thanks!

Argh! I even previewed and then viewed the thread to make sure it was there. Have modified the OP - hopefully it's there now.

I would definately say a tin - they have that basic 'heart-cake-from-a-tin' look.

Tin. Honestly, the small one could be as small as a 4". It looks pretty small.

I got out my Wilton heart pan set and stacked them up.  It looks like it is the smallest pan on top of the largest.  There are no measurements on the pans, but measuring crosswise at the widest part, the largest is a little over 14" and the smallest is 6".  which is  a ratio of 2.33:1.  If you don't need that much cake, a 9" and a 4"  would give a ratio of 2.25:1 which is very similar, if you wanted to size down.  HTH
