Anyone Ever Covered A Cake With 8Mm Pearls Before?

I have a wedding cake with 5 tiers all covered in sprinkles but 2 layers are the 8mm pearls. 12 and 8 in rould layers. How many ounces of 8mm pearls do I need for those 2 layers? I have never used that size to cover a cake only the non pariels tiny ones.
