AI made a teddy bear recently, I used a sort of pointed pick-like tool and scratched into the fondant. It pushed the fondant so that it actually looked fuzzy as opposed to just looking like it had a bunch of lines in it.

the easiest way i found was to use a small scissors and clip the fondant...

 is a great tutorial :)

also used this to do a crocodile skin effect if anyone ever needed to do that!

hope this helps

I tried using a fork and it looked great. Just push into the fondant slightly and gently flick. It's a lot faster than individual snips too.
