I have a bowl of leftover buttercream (about 4 cups, made with butter and shortening) Is is possible at this point to add some cream cheese to it to make a cream cheese frostig? I'd also like to ad a little cinnamon.

I want to use it to frost spice cupcakes .  I don't want to ruin it becauase I am  taking them to a pot luck dinner today.  Thanks for any help icon_biggrin.gif

I think it would work just fine. If I were going to do it I would let the cream cheese come to room temp and then beat it to make sure it is smooth before adding it. You may need to add more powdered sugar to get it to the consistency that you want.

It will thin it some but it de4finately is possible.  You might have to add some more pwrd sugar.  Let your cream cheese soften at room temp about an hour, then about as much b'cream to it, mix well before adding that into the rest of the b'cream.
