I recently saw a photo of a cupcake assortment that appeared to be nestled in a foam cupcake insert instead of a cardboard/paper insert. 

I'm looking for creative options for shipping and I thought this would be an option. The trouble is, I can't find anything for sale online. 

Has anyone seen or used a packing solution like this?

FYI it looked like a soft kind of foam (not styrofoam) with the cupcake circles cut out if it.
