Hello I am new to cake central and just wanted to see how everyone got started! I kind of do it as a hobby now but the more and more that I do it the more I want to do this for a living. I just wanted to see how everyone kind of went about to get things started and if you have any advice I would absolutely love it!!! Thanks and I'm so excited to make new cakie friends!!
I started with going to vista print printing my biz cards. I made a facebook page and started making cakes as practice and giving to friends and family but also took pics to post to fb. From there I started getting calls from people that tasted the cakes that i gave for free. I have been pretty much steady since Feb of this year that I started. Also try to do shows sometimes you can even get in free.
AI'm wondering the same thing! I live in a tiny town so having a lot of shows, etc. is kind of not an option unless you want up travel.
Hi, same here..
I live in tiny town in PA...we moved from Honolulu, my husband lost his job. So, now kinda urgent for me to start my own cake business. If anybody can help and advice me ? I'd be so happy.
I live in montreal, Canada, and have been "in business" from my home for over a year! It works well for now, with maybe 4 orders a month. I am a full time university student (studying for a bachelors of commerce!) so I never had enough time and energy to actually get my business to lift off! Hopefully, through word of mouth, it continues to gain popularity! Any advice for some quick, easy and effective marketing ways that have worked for you?
Here's my Facebook if interested!
