Hi there, I am making marshmellow fondant to make some small toppers to some shortbread cookies.  I realize that i put the fondant in the fridge to stay good before i shape it, but after i shape it, is it a bad idea to put the cookies w/ fondant toppers in the fridge?  I have make cupcakes with marshmellow fondant and when left overnight unrefridgerated the fondant began to turn very sticky and soft like it was almost 'melting'.  Any suggestions? Thanks!!

I don't think it's a good idea to put cookies into the fridge - they'll soften up. The fondant does react a bit with icing (also depends on the humidity level in your house) but I usually leave cookies out, so they stay dry.
