This is my first time making the giant cupcake with the candy melt base. The cake is all filled and decorated but I haven't attached the top to the bottom yet as I am unsure whether or not I should use dowels....can someone please help...Thanks!

you don't need dowels unless you add something heavy to the top - I just spread some buttercream on the bottom part (already inside of the candy melt base) and plopped the top on. I've used both buttercream and fondant to finish to top and it's very light - no supports needed.
