Hi there

I am on the market for 9" round cake pans. I have Wilton's 9x2 Performance pans but realized that the cakes aren't straight edged when baked. I've heard lots of good things about Magic Line. What pans do you guys use and do you often need to trim edges to make it straight for easier decorating/icing? Thanks!

Magic Line for me as well! I have never trimmed my edges. They come out straight on their own. I really love my ML pans.

I prefer the Fat Daddios to the Magic Line, just because they're easier to wash because they have no seam where the bottom meets the sides.

Magic Line all the way.

I agree with Costumeczar: Fat Daddio's are just as straight as Magic Line, less expensive and easier to clean in the corners of the square pans. Magic Line are the top of the line but if you can't afford them then go with Fat Daddio's .......you'll be pleased.

I prefer Fat Daddio's pans. They are super durable and easy to clean.

I do not care for Fat Daddios. They are easier to clean, but the corners aren't as crisp. They also don't give the nice golden brown color that my Magic Lines do. Also, and this may be a coincidence, but the first time I ever washed one, I cut the ever-loving &*@@! out of my finger on its edge. I'll take my Magic Lines, forever.

I use a toothpick when I'm washing them, to get the corners cleared out. It takes no time at all. icon_smile.gif

I have both and I haven't actually noticed any difference. I like them both, but I think I do lean towards Magic line - as others have said they make bit crisper corner.
