what can I use besides piping gel to attach fondant to a board? White corn syrup?

Dissolve some gumtex in water to make gumglue.

Plain water. I just use a damp paper towel to rub over the board and it works fine. Sticks like cement once it's dry.

Yep , I just mist it , or brush it with some water.
