Starting with Satin Ice Gumpaste..
My Goal is Red Roses (fall Red)
Question... Best way to achieve red beautiful roses. I know if I add too much coloring will get gummy. So should I just tint gumpaste and rely on Dusts to achieve my red? Please help. Thank you.

"tint gumpaste and rely on Dusts to achieve my red"<<<<<THIS.

I like to tint my gum paste a deep pink and then use a combo of various deeper pinks & reds to get red roses and then steam them when finished.

I also do my gum paste roses the way Rae does with either a brick red are pinkish red gum paste base. I then use burgundy, red velvet, and one or two other red colors in order to create dimension in the color so it does not look "flat". Attached is a picture of a rose I did in this manner (it is also my avatar).
