I'm a hobby baker and hope to have my own business one day. Anyways I got tired of people knocking off my buttercream and saying that hate cupcakes bc frosting is too sweet. I agreed bc even though I have the highest tolerance for sugar, I find myself taking a sip of milk after each bite of cake or cupcakes. I started significantly reducing the amount of powdered sugar and adding a little instance pudding for flavor....helped firm it up too. Also had success with mixing in a generous amount of whipping cream, whipped cream, and Wall Marts whipped cream frosting to regular buttercream. I have won over every person who wont it cupcakes bc of the sweet frosting...and those who do like it super sweet. Yes it can still be piped too. I wanted to share some of my tips since Ive already received so much help here.
