I am looking for a good fondant recipe that I would use to make figures out of for a cake. I made the marshmallow fondant, and then found out today that the marshmallow fondant isn't the correct type of fondant for making figures. Also do I add tylose powder to make the fondant harder? I do have some of that.

I use 50 fondant 50 gumpaste. I don't use MMF so I can't help there.

You can make figures with MMF, same as any other type of fondant. But they will take a long time to dry/harden, so for figures people often mix fondant with gumpaste or add tylose. Or just use gumpaste. Or use modeling chocolate (aka candy clay), or mix your fondant with modeling chocolate.

The ideal material to use depends on what kind of figures, how far in advance you'll make them, whether you care what they taste like, etc.
