Due to dietary restrictions, I have been asked to use vanilla powder in a cake instead of vanilla extract, has anyone done this? If so, which ratio would I use...is it just 1:1? There are no instructions on the bag. Will it work okay in frosting as well?

Thanks!

Hi,
I do this all the time bc I can't buy vanilla extract where I live so I usually buy it when I travel, however if I run out (like now for example) I use vanilla powder. The ratio I use is 1 for 1, however it can't be used in bc due to its grainy texture.
