I had someone request a Blue Merle Australian Shepherd cake and I am a bit intimidated. I am unsure how to go about getting the effects of the fur, etc

Any suggestions on how to go about this? I posted a picture for reference. I am new to this forum so I hope I placed this question in the right spot, I apologize if not! Any help and guidance would be wonderful!

Gosh, that's a beautiful dog and blue merle is one of my favorite color patterns. If you were to sculpt the cake, I wouldn't have an idea how to accomplish it. But you can, if you have any artistic ability, paint it with vodka-thinned colors. Other than that, I'm stumped.

I hope someone else can provide a better answer.
