my hands sweat while I'm caking, especially when I'm covering with fondant. it leaves marks and fingerprints on my smooth surface that never dry! does anyone else have this problem? is there anything I can do besides wear gloves and dust with powdered sugar??

Actually, yes. Turn down the heat in your kitchen a little, and put ice or a freezer bag in a ziploc and get your hands all nice and cold on it. Dry your hands on paper towels if there's any moisture. If you're starting to sweat, repeat. It shouldn't take a lot of time if you pay attention to how warm your hands are feeling.
