I am thinking about doing some sushi cupcakes..which are typically wrapped in black fondant and topped off white white sprinkles (to make it look like rice). I wanted some suggestions on what flavor I should do for the cupcakes. Any good recipe suggestions for cupcakes?

i think it would depend on who you are making them for. you could a savoury one. every some squid ink for something real left field.
otherwise carrot cake or red velet

Given the usual payload of sushi
(and with apologies to Iron Chefs Sakai and Morimoto),
Trout-flavored cupcake with eyeball?

Or given the only form of sushi I'll eat, how about a Spam musubi cupcake?

(I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the concept of bacon cupcakes from the "Angry Birds" episode of Cupcake Wars!)

I'm getting an image of rice pudding flavored cupcakes? I don't even know if there is such a thing...but it would go with the "rice" part of the sushi!

Or maybe some sweet or sweeter thing that is occasionally incorporated into sushi...cream cheese? I guess that's more for the frosting. Avocado? Any recipes out there with avocado? That's my favorite sushi filling.
