I just finished a birthday cake for my mother in law and have buttercream flowers left over. I was wondering how long I can keep them and how to store them. Wasn't sure if I can put in a container and leave out or do I need to store in freezer or fridge.
Any help welcomed.
I have a big, flat plastic storage box that I use to keep excess buttercream flowers in, stored in my freezer. It's great to have these little babies on hand for a last minute cake or cupcake toppers.

Yes, especaially if they have dried and are not soft they can be kept for at least 6 months in a clean, NON air-tight container. I usually used a cardboard box and had them in a cupboard away from lights.
Another option is to fz them. But the drawback is once taken out of the fzr you have to handle them *very!* carefully as they start to melt from the heat of your fingers....Unless you can defrost them about 24-48 hrs ahead....the probably will dry out again.
