Hi All,

I am new to Cake Central and love it!!

I have a question someone may be able to help me with. Can you tell me what is the best type of cake to cover with fondant icing?
I have used Victoria sponge in the past but I know this isn't ideal and the icing becomes too heavy.
What would you suggest? I want something tasty that would work well to hold up my decorations.

Many thanks

I love using the White Almond Sour Cream cake recipe on this site: It's moist and dense enough to carve, and it holds up well under fondant. You can use any flavor cake mix and add any extracts you like to change the flavor.
