Hi All,

I am new to Cake Central and love it!!

I have a question someone may be able to help me with. Can you tell me what is the best type of cake to cover with fondant icing?
I have used Victoria sponge in the past but I know this isn't ideal and the icing becomes too heavy.
What would you suggest? I want something tasty that would work well to hold up my decorations.

Many thanks
Cissie

I love using the White Almond Sour Cream cake recipe on this site:

http://cakecentral.com/recipe/the-original-wasc-cake-recipe It's moist and dense enough to carve, and it holds up well under fondant. You can use any flavor cake mix and add any extracts you like to change the flavor.

Welcome to Cake Central!
