Hi I have seen so many neat pancake cakes and I was hoping to make one for my sister as a surprise for her birthday. She loves frosting and would much prefer that to fondant. Can anyone walk me through this cake (I know it's not difficult, just feeling overwhelmed) and how to make it with butter cream? Thanks so much! You can respond here or pm me, whichever is easier.

I made my pancake stack buttercream only. I made it for my Dad for Father's Day because he doesn't like fondant either.
Take a look in my gallery, I think it's my 3rd photo. Pm me if you'd like some info. It's easier than you'd think!

If you haven't heard of Lesley Wright of Royal Bakery then you're missing out. She's one of the sweetest, most gracious and helpful cake designers out there. Here's the absolute best "stack of pancakes" cake I've ever seen and it's complete with a tutorial. icon_smile.gif Good luck!

The Royal Bakery tutorial mentioned above is excellent, and the whole cake is pretty easy to make. I used that tutorial to make one for my husband in May. It's in my photos. Probably my best cake to date.

I'm not sure if this link will work. We block FB at the office.

If it doesn't, just google Royal Bakery pancake cake tutorial
