If your fondant is that soft you need to stiffen it with some GumTex OR Tylose. I have made many, many decorations from fondant and not have them fall apart.
Maybe you are rolling it too thin for that perticular deco.

Please tell us what you are using, recipe, etc. and we can help you. I,ve made all these items for years. Never , no problems. Are you making your product or buying it.
