I want to buy some dummies but I want them to practice on and take pictures of. I am hoping that I can just scrap the butter cream off or fondant off and reuse . I don't want to buy them if I cant. Thanks for your help.
Some people cover them with shrink wrap so clean up is easier but yes you can re use them. I have. I read if you cover it in plastic wrap you can run a hair dryer over it to shrink wrap it but I havent tried that. Would love to try it next time.
I strip my dummies every summer to make new designs. Just soak them in water to loosen the icing . I let mine sit over night to dry before icing them again.
Hi, i wrap my dummies in press n seal (not cheap kind) I use 2 sheets. I press it really tight to cake. It works great. This is how i teach b/c classes at Michaels. I just set it aside when i get home(i have a cake room) and when it dries, i just hold over trash can and knock it off. works great. I use water or shortening on my dummies for fondant. I just hold that over trash can and knock off with a big knife(dull side). If it stays on too long. i can, get it off, i just throw away. You might could use the press n seal on the dummy also , then your fondant. , don,t know, I will have to try that sometimes. lol!! Of course with the b/c, you can just take it off before it dries, wrap and all. hth

I peel the dried fondant off. Sometimes its a little hard to get started then it comes off pretty easily. Pop them in the dishwasher and they are good to go!
I massage the dummies with crisco. Makes for a good fondant "glue" that allows the fondant to be taken off easily, sometimes months later.
I wash small dummies in the dishwasher, larger ones in the sink with Dawn Direct Foam
