HI, i have not tried the vanilla cake recipe, but have tried some of her recipes.Some one on here couple weeks ago, said they loved the vanilla recipe and that would be their go to recipe from now on. I do love to watch her videos and love the recipes that i have tried.
It's a basic hot milk sponge with a little more butter. It is tasty with a nice, fine crumb. It's nice and moist without being heavy. You have to make sure that you really whip the eggs until very thick and frothy to achieve the correct texture. The eggs should look like very soft whipped cream before adding the sugar.
I've scraped a vanilla bean into the milk (in addition to the vanilla) and floated the pod in it before adding to the batter, added a very nice full vanilla flavor.
