Im kind of new on cake decoration but want to take it to the next level of painting on fondant. My next assignment is to do the design below (on dummy cake) but have no idea on the kind of colour to use. I mean should I use colour gel, colour ink pen, colour powder or anything else?

I've painted with gel color and the petal dust. Just mix a little with a few drops of a clear liqueur like vodka. I don't think the pens would give you the affect you're aiming for.
