I want to create a cake with unusual elements, dry ice in a spacer, and top teir I want to do a fire element. It wouldn't last the entire night just when cake is brought out. What can I use to make fire without hurting cake? I thought about that puddy that lights on fire but didn't know if that would be safe. Anyone with some ideas?

Is there a reason you don't want to use gel? Americolor Very Red seems to work well.

Sorry, please disregard my above post. I am extremely tired from being up late making a different cake and now am at work at my real part time job and am not thinking straight icon_sad.gif

Would something like a sterno (sp?) work or the oil for candles? I think I would start there and test. Good luck and make sure to post your results!
