Hello everyone! I have an idea for an upcoming cake and I'm thinking about "molding" or "carving" a styrofoam cake dummy into the shape I want. But won't it just be really flakey? Is this even possible? Any advice is appreciated!

An electric knife or hot wire craft cutter.

I don't know what you're making so it's hard to comment. I use a hot wire cutter for the big cuts, a small hand saw for the small.
Then I file the styrofoam with a metal file for large areas and go over it with sandpaper at the end
