okay for all the experts out there that are amazing with gumpaste and fondant, what is the trick to getting rid of any cracks... anytime I make anything just from shaping it or kneading it, it has little cracks in it and I have no idea how to get rid of them... any suggestions?
This is just the natural response but have you tried adding a little Crisco/shortening to the fondant/gumpaste? It may be too dry.
Yes, that is what I have seen. Just add a little more shortening.
It may need the shortening as mentioned but it also might need a bit more liquid - usually egg white. Try one or both.
