I recently made some surfboard cookies for a little friend's luau birthday party.

And they were ok. But when I packaged them up...I loved them!

Sometimes it's all about those little finishing details. What's your favorite way to present cookies? I'm always looking for good ideas.

Adorable and clever! What do you use for sand - cookie crumbs?

I used brown sugar for the sand when I did it. Graham cracker or cookie crumbs would be great, too! I didn't even think of that.

Brown sugar is easier! I absolutely love your beach themed cookies. Thank you for sharing.

I'm a sucker for cute packaging! I've done this before for chocolate chip cookies. I found the idea on pinterest. (My other addictive site)

Those beach boards are super cute, and the packaging just makes them even more perfect! I love them!

I like trying to find ways to package treats, too. I found some cute boxes at a dollar store (I think it was Family Dollar). I've used them for cake balls and cookies:

They were the perfect size to hold about 5 or 6 3" cookies, stacked on top of each other.

mhcl--gasp! Brilliant! CD sleeves, right? Did you do a printable label/sticker sheet for the overlay? LOVE IT! And pinned it. icon_wink.gif

If you do a lot of cookie gifts for neighbors, teachers, etc., I LOVE these kraft boxes from Papermart.

A simple ribbon or even a strip of fabric tied in a bow, and it looks so pretty!

I use them for Christmas cookies, for boxed lunches at parties (like in the picture), for sending lunch to school when my daughter needs something entirely disposable for a field trip, and more.

Late response here...summer icon_rolleyes.gif I'm a Minnesota girl but I think a Phoenix (or anyplace warm) girl at heart. It's been 104 degrees here and I think I'm the only one not complaining icon_razz.gif I think we'd get along well too;o) I love doing amped up parties for my kids (even though I think the inlaws think I'm nuts). Themed decorations, tables, I even had a Navi from Avatar one for my daughter. My kids were a little obsessed for a while. Haa! SoI love your site and I will be checking it often to get ideas! Your low versions are my high versions icon_razz.gif

I would love to learn more about packaging. Thanks for sharing your ideas. I see custom labels on cookie bags all the time. How do they do that?? Is there a program that I can download that prints those?

If you have a flare for graphic design, you can do it yourself! That, unfortunately, is not my skill set. But go to Etsy and search for "printables" and you'll find tons of different party themes with gorgeous graphics you can print out and use. My favorite company is Frog Prince Paperie http://frogprincepaperie.com.

Then all you need to do is print out the graphics on adhesive label paper, cut out, and use! Most printables designers make standard sized graphics that work well with scrapbook punches so you can get perfect, easy cut-outs.

If you don't have a color printer, you can take the files to any print shop (small independent, Staples, etc.) and they'll print them out for you.

If you're looking for a custom label for a business, I'd go to the custom sticker manufacturers. I buy so many stickers for my business (not baking) at a time, that I go years between orders, and never remember who I used before. There are lots of good companies out there, though. Just google around.
