Has anyone mixed American buttercream with whipped Pastry Pride for a lighter texture? Thanks!

I tried it once and it didn't turn out well at all. I think I added too much to the buttercream, it had a weird texture, kind of curdled looking. Would love an answer too if someone has done it in a ratio that worked. It tasted great, but looked odd.
