Hi everyone! I was hoping for any helpful advice on how to color frosting black. Using the frosting from tubs (like Duncan Hines) and also homemade frosting. Thanks! icon_smile.gif

Hi, some decorators say on this site, they start with chocolate , then add wilton black or americolor black. I have always just used black . I stop at a certain point , because as it sits, it will get blacker. Any color gets darker as it sits. I am afraid to start with chocolate, (just in case someone is alergic to chocolate or simply doesn,t like chocolate. I have a friend that does not like the taste of chocolate on anything. This is the way i have colored icing for 18 yrs. Some others will give their point of view.
