how much do you charge for figures on top of a cake?

Depends on the size and complexity of the figure? Are you talking about all gumpaste/fondant figures...rice krispy treat figures?

How long does it take you to make figures? What do you pay yourself hourly? If a figure will take you 2 hrs to make, figure what you pay yourself per hour then add in cost of materials and a small increase for specialty item and that should give you your price.

Depends on the figure and the size. My formula is cost of materials + mark up + labor

I'm just curious about the fondant/gumpaste figures. I have an order for a cake with 2 people in yoga poses, and wasn't quite sure what to charge. But I tried to guess how long it would take me and charged just like you suggested!
